Florida Institute of Technology was founded in 1958 in Melbourne as Brevard Engineering College and it changed its name to Florida Institute of Technology in 1966. It has become known as a major technological university in the entire world.

The campus of Institute of Technology is situated on the east coast of Central Florida in Brevard County, site of Kennedy Space Center and NASA shuttle launches. Less than one hour from Disney World, the Space Coast occupies 72 miles of Atlantic coastline-Orlando's closest beaches.

Athletics
